James Murphy, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Murphy is responsible for the development of strategic partnerships and directing the corporate strategy at EquityNet. He focuses on networking and building key industry partnerships that accentuate the EquityNet platform with additional traffic and expanded services. Mr. Murphy has been involved with EquityNet since 2012 and also holds a position on EquityNet’s Board of Managers. He has managing experience as an executive partner at the business incubator and non-traditional venture capital firm, Proton Enterprises, and his career has spanned mergers and acquisitions activities, alternative fund brokerage, private equity investing, and business startup operations.
Mr. Murphy managed a leading brain-health brand, helping a neurologist build an explosive ecommerce and web community and achieve more than a year on the NY Times best seller list. Additionally, he has managed and expanded distribution for a hardware company in the marine industry to over 26 countries and 150 dealers internationally. Mr. Murphy's work has also reached across international borders and in particular in Haiti and Mexico where he was active in mortgage finance, housing construction, business development, and manufacturing. Mr. Murphy earned his B.A. from Yale University. His academic work has been featured in the Yale Entrepreneur and the Katz School of Business, and he has spoken at the Yale School of Management and the Business Society's conference on sustainable enterprise in developing nations. Mr. Murphy serves as a trustee for the Aurelian Honor Society, the Adelphic Literary Society, and is a member of the National Business Incubation Association.
Matthew Imhoff, Chief Information Officer
Mr. Imhoff works closely with the CEO in executing EquityNet's corporate strategy and day-to-day operations. Since starting with EquityNet in 2009, Mr. Imhoff has held business development, sales, marketing, customer relations, management, and vice president positions. As CIO, Mr. Imhoff is responsible for operational management of the EquityNet platform, the conception and design of new system enhancements, and the management of development projects from start-to-finish. He also assists with team development and training, customer relations management, and customer premium assistance. Earlier in his career, Mr. Imhoff worked as a Product Engineer for Ayrshire Electronics in Fayetteville, Arkansas, as an Analyst at the Arkansas Capital Corporation Group in Little Rock, Arkansas, and as a Research Assistant at Harvard University's Accessible Technology Laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Mr. Imhoff has extensive experience and in entrepreneurship and fundraising. His specialties include project management, sales, web development, online marketing, entrepreneurial planning, market and competitive research, entrepreneurial finance, technology commercialization, intellectual property development, private equity, and venture capital. He has assisted thousands of entrepreneurs with their business planning and fundraising endeavors. Mr. Imhoff earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics from the University of Arkansas. He subsequently earned his M.S. in Technological Entrepreneurship from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts where he held the Samuel and Nancy Jo Altschuler Fellowship.
Kenneth Richardson, Senior Financial Analyst
Mr. Richardson currently oversees all premium services offered to entrepreneurs on EquityNet. Some of his main responsibilities include expanding and managing EquityNet’s new commission model, providing assistance to entrepreneurs looking to optimize their crowdfunding campaign, working with the team to execute the company's sales strategy, and performing a wide range of internal data analysis for team and system use.
Mr. Richardson earned his B.S.B.A. in Finance and Economics from the University of Arkansas. As a student, he served on the Product Management team of the Grilled & Ready product line at Tyson Foods Inc. At Tyson, he led the day-today management of a $5 million budget and developed multiple tracking and forecasting models to improve budget planning. During his final year at The University of Arkansas, he was selected to the Rebsamen Trust Portfolio Management class, in which the chosen students managed the Rebsamen Trust fund currently valued at over $1 million. He is also currently pursuing accreditation as a Chartered Financial Analyst with the CFA Institute, as well as the FINRA series 63 & 82 licenses.
Jonathan Ulrich, Senior Software Engineer
Mr. Ulrich is responsible for designing and developing many of the platform's innovative software features, maintaining and optimizing its backend architecture, and improving the overall speed and efficiency of its development pipeline. He has several years of experience in both software and web development including specific expertise in creating large multi-layer web applications, dealing with a variety of cloud computing services, and handling geographically defined data. He has a passion for researching new technologies in order to discover how they can benefit business products and processes.
Mr. Ulrich previously founded Impulsiv Technologies, Inc., an accelerator-funded mobile application designed to make it easier for friends and associates to quickly decide on and start an activity on a social meeting application. Mr. Ulrich earned his B.S. in Information Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
