AFN's core business is the manufacture and marketing of proprietary high nutrient fish-based ingredients from by-products for the pet food industry, with an eye toward future refinement for widespread human consumption. The mission of Alaska Fish Nutrition is to accomplish good things for both the environment and mankind while making a profit. To implement these ideals , AFN will convert salmon fishing by-product and waste into value-added nutritional ingredients for pet and human consumption. AFN will become the global leader in eliminating by-product waste created by the commercial fishing industry. AFN will also become a prominent player in the effort to improve the nutritional status of malnourished populations around the world and provide jobs for veterans and native populations in Alaska. The availability of raw material at almost no cost is virtually unlimited. There are at least 40 locations in Alaska that expressed an interest in installing a machine to process by-products. Interest in the product has been expressed by numerous companies and food brokers. While most will view AFN as a startup it is important to note the drying process has been perfected and in addition to the pet treat market we have a humanitarian group that desires to purchase our product to feed the hungry worldwide.

Having witnessed the huge amount of waste and its effect on the environment, Mr. Zorich was driven to find a viable solution to the problem. He researched existing drying technologies and engineered a new proprietary process that is the foundation on which the company was built. Mr Zorich has more than 30 years experience in invention and patenting, developing, manufacturing, marketing in manufacturing and service company start-ups. He has founded and financed his own businesses and has broad contacts in the Alaska fish production community. These come as a result of 25 years spent commercially fishing for salmon in Alaska.
