Company Overview

WAVE has developed a low-cost, elegant solution to the silent epidemic of accidental drowning. WAVE systems are now deployed at aquatic facilities and homes across the country, protecting the lives of thousands of swimmers every day.

WAVE is addressing the #2 leading cause of accidental death of US children, and the only leading cause that has not been declining in recent decades, drowning. Virtually no technology has been applied to drowning detection, and consistently almost 1,000 US kids and 3,000 US adults die each year. This is because drowning is extremely difficult to detect, with 88% of drownings occurring under supervision.

WAVE solves this problem with ultralight wearables worn by thousands every day. The wearables are used to determine how long a swimmer's face is fully submerged and the system instantly alerts should the swimmer remain underwater for a dangerous period of time.

WAVE is easy to use, portable, and works in pools, lakes, and anywhere people swim. It is the first solution with the affordability, simplicity and reliability to enable widespread adoption. Our vision is that swimming without a system like WAVE will be as rare as driving without a seatbelt or cycling without a helmet.
